Orientation Program Held at the Department of Law of Premier University .

An orientation program for the 58th batch of the LL.B. (Honours) program of the Department of Law of Premier University was held at the university’s Hazari Lane campus. The program took place on Wednesday, 04 March 2026, at 12:00 PM.

The Vice Chancellor of Premier University, Professor S M Nasrul Quadir, attended the program as the Chief Guest. The event was presided over by the Chairman of the Department of Law, Associate Professor Anup Kumar Biswas.

The Treasurer of Premier University, Dr. Zahed Hossain Sikder, attended as the Special Guest. Other distinguished guests included Professor Mohammad Morshed Mahmud Khan, Adjunct Dean of the Faculty of Law; Ms. Tanzina Alam Chowdhury, Assistant Dean; and Mr. Mohammad Solaiman Chowdhury, Proctor of the university. Dr. Meher Nigar, Convener of the Complaint Committee, was also present on the stage.

In his speech, the Chief Guest, Vice Chancellor Professor S M Nasrul Quadir, said that the Department of Law of Premier University enjoys a strong reputation and an enviable position in Bangladesh. He emphasized that this reputation must be maintained through sincere study, excellent academic results, and remarkable achievements. He also expressed his hope that the students would become lawyers in the future and apply the law for the welfare of humanity. He assured the students that Premier University would continue to provide all necessary support to ensure their proper academic development and that their teachers would always stand beside them.

In his speech, Special Guest Dr. Zahed Hossain Sikder highlighted the various achievements of the alumni of Premier University. He mentioned that five programs of the university, including the Bachelor of Laws (LL.B. Honours) program, are receiving accreditation from the Bangladesh Accreditation Council. As a result, graduates from this department will have opportunities to pursue careers internationally and establish their professional lives more easily.

Another Special Guest, Professor Mohammad Morshed Mahmud Khan, stated that the achievements of the Department of Law at Premier University are exceptional and unique in Bangladesh. He remarked that the students had made a wise decision by choosing to study law at this university and expressed his belief that they would become lawyers with strong humanitarian values.

Assistant Dean Ms. Tanzina Alam Chowdhury welcomed the new students and said that from this day forward they are part of the Premier University family. She expressed her confidence that the students would complete their academic journey with dedication and a passion for law.

Proctor Mr. Mohammad Solaiman Chowdhury discussed the Code of Conduct of Premier University with the new students.

In his closing remarks, the Chairman of the Department, Associate Professor Anup Kumar Biswas, wished the new students a bright future.

Speeches were also delivered by Dr. Meher Nigar and newly admitted students Taslim Jahan and Shahsir Khan. The program was moderated by Assistant Professor Ms. Yasmin Farzana, and was attended by faculty members and students of the department.
